History of the locksmith and locks

Locks and keys were known long before Christ's birth. They are often mentioned in the Old Testament and in mythology. In the book of Nehemiah, chapter 3, states that the repairs to the gates of the Old City of Jerusalem - probably in 445 BC - they "set up the doors and locks and latches."
